February 2012
The 2011 season closed with Ben taking 6th overall in the PMCRC championship and will ride with number 6 on his KTM300EXC in 2012. All change for Olly as both the Suzuki and Husqvarna have now gone to make way for a new TM250EN. Both riders are focusing on training at present and are riding every weekend at their top secret test track in preparation for the season opener. A full season of H&H and Enduro racing is planned for 2012 with Olly set to race some Hampshire Motocross meetings in between.

September 2011
September kicked off with round 4 of the PMCRC H&H series at Woodbury Lane. The event was looking good until 5minutes before the start of the race when the heavens opened turning the dusty track into a skating rink. Olly had decided to race the RM rather than the Husqvarna which proved difficult in the very slippery technical conditions. A terrible start leaving him chasing the pack and then a length of galvansied wire wrapped round the rear wheel mid race took some time to remove and blew any chance of a good result. Ben on the other hand was flying. A great start and consistent ride saw him running in second place on the penultiimate lap. A small mistake allowed Lawrence Catt through but Ben held on for a very respectable third place finish.

Hampshire motocross continues this month with 2 rounds. Owslebury on the 11th September and Whitings Water on the 18th. Olly plans to race both meetings.

August 2011
PMCRC held the 3rd round of their summer H&H series at Woodbury Lane in July and saw Ben and Olly racing the fast and flowing circuit. Ben was taking things relatively easy on his recently rebuilt KTM300exc. Olly rode the old husky and finished 6th overall despite a few crashes towards the end of the race.

Hampshire Motocross Club hosted their charity event at the GP track of Matterley Basin where Olly raced well however ended up with a broken left ankle after badly casing the finish line double jump in the Open 2-stroke shootout. Olly will be out of action for 4-6 weeks but hopes to race at the next PMCRC H&H round in early September.

July 2011
June saw a return to Whitings Water for round 7 of the Hampshire Motocross Championships. Olly had a great return to the club by taking the overall on the day with a 3rd and 4th in the A-Finals to secure the win. From there Hampshire Motocross club returned to Fobdown Farm at the start of July. A good day was had with Olly finishing 7th overall despite some mistakes in the A-Finals.

The next meeting is a return to Hare and Hounds racing with PMCRC with both Ben and Olly competing. Ben's KTM is finally back together after the disaterous engine failure and is now ready to race.

At the end of July Hampshire Motocross Club travel to the GP circuit at Matterley Basin for their annual charity event.

May 2011
This month was plagued by mechanical failures with both Ben and Olly being forced to retire from round 2 of the Portsmouth Motorcycle racing club Hare & Hound championship. Ben's bike developed engine problems mid race resulting in a DNF after running well in the top 5. Olly crashed out on the Husqvarna early on with a flattened exhaust and split coolant hose.

With Ben out of action as his KTM is being rebuilt Olly dusted of the RM250 and raced the South Reading club's H&H meeting at Ashdown Woods. The RM proved to be the way to go with Olly finishing 3rd overall and setting the fastest lap of the day.

June will see a few meetings including the return to Whitings Water with the Hampshire Motocross Club as well as the PMCRC's 5hr Ironman.

April 2011
This month saw Ben and Olly race the first round of the Portsmouth Motorcycle racing club Hare & Hound championship. Both riders finished the very technical 3hour event with Ben riding the KTM300 in the championship class after finishing 3rd last season and Olly racing the Husqvarna WR250 in the expert class for the first time.

Ben and Olly also raced with the Chiltern Hills Enduro club at their fantastic Lane End venue. The event format was a 2hour H&H in the morning followed by an hour interval then another 2hour session in the afternoon. Both riders were well on the pace but bike problems robbed Olly a top 5 finish. A log dislodged the expansion chamber and then an overheating rear brake ended up locking on which ruined the morning session. Ben went for an extra lap in the morning but was then penalised for finishing late costing him a top 5 finish.

The next race meeting will be another 3 hour H&H as the PMCRC host round 2 of their championship on the 8th May.

March 2011
Established in 2006 the RSRmx team has been contesting a number of motocross championships across the country with considerable success for the last 5 seasons and continues to compete in this, the 2011 season despite some recent changes to the team and race focus.

The first major change is a restructure of the team due to the temporary retirement of rider Paul Dunford as he concentrates on his new business venture. We are assured that Paul will be back racing soon and we wish him the very best and every success with his new business.

Olly continues to focus on his motocross but has decided to take a year out of racing the championship scene after finishing runner up in the Hampshire Main in 2010. This season sees a change in focus to training by racing Hare and Hounds and Enduros aboard a new Husqvarna WR250. The aim is to return to a full MX race season and continue riding H&H's in 2012 aboard a new machine so watch this space.

Finally, the team announces the introduction of a new rider in the form of Ben Mayhew (Olly's older brother) and 2011 will see the Mayhew brothers racing together for the first time in 21 years as they launch an assualt on the local cross country championships.
